Dr. Chen Wang graduated from Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine in 1989 and continued his study in the same university with his Masters and Ph.D. in the field of Chinese medicine in nephrology. He is currently professor and chief physician in the nephrology department of Shuguang Hospital affiliated to Shanghai university of Chinese medicine.

Dr. Chen Wang is specialized in the integration traditional Chinese and Western medicine in nephrology including the prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD), urinary tract infection (UTI), nephropathy syndrome (NS), chronic renal failure (CRF), diabetic nephropathy (DN), hypertensive nephropathy (HTN) in traditional Chinese medicine. He has 25-years of clinical experiences in treating kidney diseases and published numerous research papers.

Dr. Chen Wang’s course is composed of two parts: 1) general introduction the definitions, pathogenic factors and pathogenesis to chronic nephritis, chronic renal failure, urinary tract infection, nephropathy syndrome, IgA nephrology, diabetic nephropathy and urolithiasis related to some of common diseases of nephrology; 2) Essentials for diagnosis, syndrome differentiation and treatment of common diseases according to different types in the department of nephrology. A comparative study of the differences between western medicine and Chinese medicine as well as experiential prescriptions will also be discussed in the course.
